Thank you, thank you, thank you! Welcome to The Sbarro Comedy Hour*, hosted by yours truly! Okay, I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, Hey man, this isn't a TV show. This is a blog! And yes, you're right, this is a blog! Your powers of deduction are rivaled only by your rugged Clooney-esque good looks (or your stunning beauty if you're a lady-reader) and your impeccable taste in bespoke parkas. But consider this blog a stepping stone, a preview of things to come, of a TV show so early in pre-production it doesn't have a staff, crew, or funding. Sbarro’s roots go back to Naples, Italy where for Gennaro and Carmela Sbarro the art of crafting Italian cuisine was a way of life. The couple and their three sons, Mario, Joseph and Anthony, immigrated to America in 1956 to pursue their dream of owning a successful business in the U. S. Their Sbarro Italian Delicatessen in Brooklyn, N.Y. was well received by the local community and was the first of what would grow to become over 1,000 Sbarro restaurants. Since January 2007, Sbarro is owned by MidOcean Partners, a premier private equity firm.
